HOUSTON (April 21, 2021) – KP Engineering (KPE), a leader in designing, executing, and delivering customized EPC solutions for the refining, syngas and hydrogen and renewable fuels industries, has promoted DeLome Fair to principal process engineer. She will be tasked with expanding KPE’s leadership role in syngas and hydrogen plant design and execution.
Fair, who will be based in KPE’s Houston office, will be responsible for the growth of the company’s syngas and hydrogen business. During her nearly 30-year career, Fair has been responsible for more than 30 syngas, hydrogen and gasification projects. She has led design and start-up teams and has performed technical services for several of these. At KPE, Fair has already taken significant design responsibility on a 9000 BPD Renewable Diesel Unit and the lead role on 45 MMSCFD and 87 MMSCFD hydrogen plant projects. Prior to KPE, Fair served as president and CEO of Synthesis Energy Systems, Inc., which focused on commercializing, licensing and deploying new syngas production technology, in various syngas-related leadership roles for the General Electric Company, and as a lead engineer in Texaco’s syngas, hydrogen and power businesses.
William E. Preston, KPE’s president and COO, said, “DeLome’s vast experience in synthesis gas and hydrogen, combined with her proven leadership expertise, will support KPE in our current path to becoming the preferred syngas and hydrogen partner for our clients’ renewable energy needs. We are excited to promote DeLome to this crucial position.”
Fair commented, “KPE prides itself on providing its syngas and hydrogen plant design clients with engineers and designers who have decades’ worth of process design, equipment procurement and construction experience. I am excited to put my own three decades’ worth of engineering experience to work in this new role, with a commitment to delivering syngas installations that meet or exceed the most rigorous industry standards.”
Fair holds a master’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of Kansas and is a member of the Society of Women Engineers.
