KPE To Provide Engineering Services For CO Boiler Feasibility Study

March 12, 2017

KP Engineering will provide engineering services to evaluate viable options for modifying the Fluidized Catalytic Cracking Unit (FCCU) regenerator and flue gas system for a Gulf Coast refiner. The feasibility study will consider options for increasing steam production with a carbon monoxide (CO) boiler while reducing gas velocity through the FCCU regenerator section to improve cyclone reliability. Several operating cases will be extensively reviewed as part of the study. Preliminary engineering work will be completed to the extent necessary to analyze and confirm technical viability of the proposed options. Budgetary cost information will be supplied to provide cost guidance. The process study is expected to take up to two months to complete and will be performed by KP Engineering experts in FCCU process and mechanical design.
